2nd Edition of AGE Cambodia a Resounding Success in Sihanoukville

The 2^nd Asia Entertainment and Investment Expo 2019 concluded in Sihanoukville Cambodia on a high note last week, 28^th June 2019, with the potential sales hitting the targeted $50 million and investors expressing confidence in Cambodia’s business sector.

The two day event managed to attract visitor up to 4500 from all various countries around the world such as China, Singapore, Thailand, East Europe, US, Malaysia, Taiwan, Australia, Papua New Guinea, Vietnam, Indonesia, Cyprus and Myanmar.

Jerel Soo, The CEO of WorldEx Trade Media Sdn Bhd, the organiser of the event, shared his view about the event in an interview by expressing his confidence in the Cambodian market and confirming the sales that hit a solid $50 Million just for this year.

He further talked about how the entertainment and gaming sector is helping Cambodia, “Cambodia is moving in the right direction and the entertainment and gaming sectors can attract more tourists to the country and also reduce unemployment like in Macau, where the unemployment is very low.”

Following the success of this event and a huge demand from the international participants, the organisers have already started the preparations for AGE 2020 in Sihanoukville, Cambodia next year- a city which has emerged as a major attraction for gaming investors.

After the success of the 1^st edition of AGE 2018, the 2^nd Edition of AGE 2019 commenced with the same objective to attract investors in the property, franchise, gaming and entertainment industries, while, simultaneously promoting the latest technologies in the entertainment and gaming sectors.

The expo participants consisted of companies that are involved in e-payment, leisure, online gaming and service provider for the entertainment industry. Each company brought new and unique ideas and products for the Cambodia’s market.

2^nd Edition of AGE 2019 commenced with the support of Ministry of Commerce. Among the guests for the opening ceremony were present, H.E Som Serey Rath, Secretary of State of Ministry of Commerce highly representative of H.E Pan Sosak, Minister of Ministry of Commerce, H.E Mang Sineth, Deputy Governor of Sihanouk Province, Mr. Prum Sok Chea Vannda, Director of Provincial Department of Commerce of Sihanouk province and Oknha Van Sok Heng, President of Cambodia of Commerce of Sihanouk province

The Opening ceremony was inaugurated with speech from H.E Som Serey Rath, Secretary of State of Ministry of Commerce highly representative of H.E Pan Sosak, Minister of Ministry of Commerce.

Speaking at the opening ceremony of the event, H.E Som Serey Rath, urged foreign investors to consider Cambodia as their investment destination as the country is experiencing rapid growth and educated the foreign investors of the budget the country has for foreign investors as well as the GDP growth and the economic boost that Cambodia has received and is receiving over the past couple of years.

After the success of 2^nd AGE 2019, the international market is awaiting the 3^rd edition of AGE 2020 to help them break into the profitable Cambodia’s market.
